ABBA - Dancing Queen - 1976
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life

See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen

Friday night and the lights are low

Looking out for the place to go

Where they play the right music, getting in the swing

You come in to look for a king

Anybody could be that guy

Night is young and the music's high

With a bit of rock music, everything is fine

You're in the mood for a dance

And when you get the chance...

You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen

Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine

You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life

See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen

You're a teaser, you turn 'em on

Leave them burning and then you're gone

Looking out for another, anyone will do

You're in the mood for a dance

And when you get the chance...

You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen

Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine

You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life

See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen

ABBA - Dancing Queen - 1976

ABBA-Dancing Queen
ABBA was a Swedish pop music group. The band consisted of Benny Andersson (Sweden), Björn Ulvaeus (Sweden), Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Norway), Agnetha Fältskog (Sweden). They topped the charts worldwide from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. The name "ABBA" is an acronym formed from the first letters of each of the group member's given name (Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anni-Frid).
"Dancing Queen", topped the charts in the loyal markets UK, Germany and Australia, and reached number 1 in the United States.

ABBA have performed disco, rock and roll, folk, love songs and other song types. Now, decades later, the songs "Dancing Queen", "Fernando" and "Mamma-Mia" are being played on ipods, stereos and theaters. Their music breadth is quite amazing from the soft toned "Andante, Andante" to "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", "Money, Money, Money", and "Summer Night City". The 1994 movie Muriel's Wedding has also helped introduce younger generations to ABBA's music. ABBA had such hits as: The Day Before You Came, SOS, The Winner Takes it All, Knowing Me Knowing You, as well as many less popular but just as enjoyable ones, among which are: Cassandra, Elaine, That's Me and Crazy World.

ABBA's biggest selling single ever, Dancing Queen was their only US Number One.

ABBA Agnethda Åse FältskogAgnetha Åse Fältskog was born on April 5, 1950 in the town of Jönköping in Sweden. Agnetha began her music career early in life: at the age of just six she wrote her first song,”Two Little Trolls”.

Agnetha began her adult at 16 singing in a dance band called The Enghardts. She demonstrated her song writing ability when she created for the band, ”I Was So In Love”, which went on to become her first single. This song was released in 1967 as her debut record which then became a number one hit on the Swedish music charts. As a member of ABBA, she performed in several singles, albums and even a number of German-language recordings released in West Germany.

In 1969 Agnetha started her love affair and engagement with Björn Ulvaeus April 1970. By November the couple performed a cabaret show together with Björn’s songwriter , Benny Andersson, and his sweetheart, Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Björn and Agnetha were married on July 6, 1971.

Anni-Frid Synni LyngstadAnni-Frid Synni Lyngstad, better known as Frida, was born November 15, 1945 in Ballangen outside of Narvik, Norway.

Frida has limited success as a recording artist up to the early Seventies even though she was a fairly well-known stage artist. By 1970 she was part of a Swedish cabaret show with her fiancé, Benny Andersson, and with Björn Ulvaeus and his fiancée, Agnetha Fältskog.

From the early 70s and for the next decade Frida focused her work with ABBA and also released the Swedish-language solo album ”Frida Alone” in 1975. In February 1982 Frida started recording her first English language solo album Something’s Going On, produced by Phil Collins and then the 1984 album "Shine". During the mid-80s, Frida withdrew from the public but made a limited comeback in the early 1990s with her last album ”Deep Breaths”. [1]
