"The Glow-Worm" is an American popular song from the 1950s, based on a 1902 German song, "Glüwürmchen," with music by Paul Lincke and German lyrics by . That song, with its familiar chorus and less familiar verses, was translated into English by Lilla Cayley Robinson and used in the 1920 Broadway musical "The Girl Behind The Counter." Several new English lyrics were added by Johnny Mercer for the 1952 recording by The Mills Brothers. The song was published in 1902. Its original German title was "Glühwürmchen." [1] |
